Dryer Sheet Technique

A day late but here are the cards we made at this weeks Technique Tuesday class.  The dryer sheet is a fun technique and who knew you could make something so cute out of something you would normally throw away!?!

Dryer Sheet Technique:  cut your desired shape out of a dryer sheet.  To color the dryer sheet, I filled one of Stampin' Up!'s new Stampin' Spritzer almost to the top with water then added 13 drops of Melon Mambo ink refill for the watermelon and Pumpkin Pie ink refill for the flower.  Then, I placed the dryer sheet shapes on wax paper and spritzed them until they were covered.  Then, I blotted them in paper towels and let them sit until they were dry.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Here are the supplies everyone received.  I used the new *Everything Eleanor* stamp set.  I love this color combination, Daffodil Delight and Basic Grey.

This is the card I created.

Date Night!

My husband got tickets for *Kooza* Cirque du Soleil for us for my birthday.  I hesitated because of the price of the tickets but I have ALWAYS wanted to see one of their shows so I went with it.  I'm so glad I did!  It was AWESOME!  It's so hard to put into words but it touched so many emotions and it was soooo entertaining!  If you ever get the chance to go, do it!

Here we are, getting ready to leave for the show.  Keep in mind, we are goofy and don't get out or get our pics taken very often.

After we found our seats, there wasn't a bad seat there, I asked my husband if the tickets said anything about cameras.  He checked and said no.  So, I pulled out my camera and snapped this pic before the show started.  Then, security quickly came over and asked me not to take anymore.  Ooops!

Here's an adorable box made using the new Polka Dot Designer Series Paper.  I found the idea on Dawn Griffith's blog.  Be sure to check out her blog, she is very creative!  If you'd like to view her video for this box, go HERE

1st Place!

Today Shaylin competed in her 2nd Dive Meet of the Summer and earned 1st Place for her age group!

She got 7th at the first dive meet last week and she was disappointed when she received a participant ribbon.

I explained to her that she needs to do the harder dives she's been learning so she can earn a higher score.  I think that was a lightbulb moment for her because that's exactly what she did!  She was so excited and we were soooo happy for her!

I really don't know how she does some of these dives!  I'm scared to even jump into the pool from the side now that I'm older and I know things can break!  Ok, I'm not ashamed to admit I'm a sissy!  :o)

Well, it's been a long day for us so I will quickly share another card made with the Papaya Collage stamp set.  It's a simple 3" x 3" card and you can never have too many of these babies!  So, quick and easy and nice to have when you need to slip a little note or birthday wish to someone!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a fun and safe weekend!

Love my Stampin' Friends

I gave everyone that attended my New Catalog Kick-Off Class one of these simple little gifts.

They are so cute and VERY easy to make! I wrapped a peppermint patty with the new Polka Dot paper and added a Boho Blossom flower punch. The saying I got from Sonic. They had it written out in chalk where you pull up to pay and I await my yummie Cherry Coke. They had also drawn the mints they hand out but I used my favorite mint.  It was just soooo cute and I loved the saying. I just typed it out on the computer and printed it out on our Whisper White cardstock.

Like I mentioned before I celebrated my birthday this weekend and I wanted to share some of the cards I received.

This is the card I received from Michelle.

This is the card I received from Keri.

Thanks again for everything my Stampin' Friends!

Wonderful You

Hope you all enjoyed Father's Day!  We didn't do too much here but that's just the way my husband likes it.  So, it was a perfect day for him.  And, since it is his day, I'm fine with it.

This is a girlie card and no, I didn't give it to my husband for Father's Day.  But, he is wonderful so I thought I'd share it today.

We made it yesterday in my New Catalog Kick-Off class and it was made with one of my new favorite stamp sets from the new Stampin' Up! catalog, *Papaya Collage*.  Not sure how it got it's name but it is a set that I know I will use over and over.  I love the soft colors of this card and how they all go perfectly together.

Can you find the new Vintage Faceted Designer Button? It blends in in the pic but just finishes the card off beautifully in person.

I celebrated my birthday this weekend and was giddy when my friend Michelle brought a cake to class and Keri brought me my favorite drink in the world, a Cherry Coke from Sonic!  I just have one question that I need to ask Sonic though, Why do they randomly add a cherry?  I love cherries and would love the bottom of my drink covered in them but I am so disappointed when I get to the bottom and there isn't even ONE!  Does anyone have the answer to that question?  :o)

I took this pic at a weird angle.  It didn't look right when I rotated it either.  It was delicious and my family devoured it!  Ok, I did eat most of it.  :o)  Anyway, I want to say a BIG *Thank You* to my sweet friends!

Triple Tier Slider Card Class

Just wanted to share the projects we made in today's *Six Dollar Sunday*.  I found the Triple Tier Slider Card HERE on Heather Summer's blog and just knew I had to make it.  You can find the measurements and her video there, too!  So, be sure to check it out.

Some of you might recognize this background paper.  Stampin' Up! carried it sooo long ago, I can't even remember what it's called.  Unfortunately, I'm a paper hog and for some reason I would rather look at it than use it.  That just makes no sense when I think about it logically.  But, it is what it is and I have to force myself to use my paper, which is what I did with this project.

The bow was inspired by the cover of the new Stampin' Up! catalog

This is the slider card when you pull all the layers out.  Soooo cute!

Well, I just couldn't have them make only one project so I quickly came up with this matching gift card holder this morning.

This cutie is soooo quick and easy!  All you need is a 3" x 7" piece of paper and fold it in half.  With the fold on the bottom and the open side on top, I placed sticky strip on the sides, to seal them up.  Now, only the top is open and that's where I punched half of the 3/4" circle punch to make an opening to pull the gift card out.  Then just decorate the front.  This is also a great way to use your scraps.

WWYD Wednesday

Just thought I'd share the WWYD card kit everyone got at my last Technique Tuesday.  I waited to post it because I had used the Everything Eleanor stamp set that is in the new catalog.  Which by the way, is now available!

So, be sure to contact me if you'd like your very own copy of the new Stampin' Up! catalog.  Only $2 for the catalog and if you'd like, I can mail it priority for only $5 more!  And, if you want to get real fancy, I can have it spiral bound for you for only $5 more.  I love having my catalogs spiral bound because they lay flat and stay open and it just makes life soooo much easier!  Any whooo, here's a pic of the WWYD kit.

Feel free to play along!  I would love to see what you come up with.  I will post pics of our WWYD cards after my next Technique Tuesday class on June 26th.

Thank You cards for May orders

So much going on around here but I just wanted to quickly share the complimentary cards I am sending out for orders placed in May.

These cards are so quick and easy to make using the Fun Flowers Bigz Die and the Big Shot.  Then I placed the flower parts into the Perfect Polka Dot folder and ran it thru the Big Shot just to add a little more dimension to the flower.  Glue the flower together then add to card base. Super simple, just the way I like!
