Mason's Birthday Card

My nephew's sweet baby Mason turned ONE last week and I just had to make him a special card to celebrate his 1st Birthday!  It's like the pop-up card from my blog post on 5/10/12.  Of course, I changed it some so I could fit his name and it ended up fitting in an envelope for an 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" card.

As you can see, I included some extra goodies (banner, star punches, etc) so his mommie, Brittney, can decorate it, if she decides to.

Thanks for stopping by!

WWYD?

If you've been following my blog, you know that at every Technique Tuesday class, I put together a WWYD card kit and give one to everyone that attends.  Here are the cards that were created with the WWYD card kit from last month (April).  You can view the kit in my 5/17/12 blog post.

This is the card I created.

This is the card Keri created.

And, this is the card that Michelle created.

I just love seeing what we can all create with the same supplies.  As you can see, we are all free to add to it, too.  So, although they are similar, they are all different.  Love it!!!

For some reason, I thought the First Edition Specialty Designer paper was retiring but I'm so happy to see that it is in the new Stampin' Up! Catalog!  Yippee!  Contact me if you'd like your very own copy of the new catalog!

FYI, I will post the newest WWYD card kit after June 1st because it includes images from a stamp set that will appear in the new catalog that doesn't go live until June 1st.

Thanks for stopping by!

Goin', Goin', Going!

Boy, have we been a little busy around here! It feels like we have been goin', goin', going!

Keara's last day of 7th grade was last Thursday and Shaylin's last day of 3rd grade was this past Wednesday.  In that time, Keara has attended 2 birthday parties, Shaylin had an ALL day fieldtrip to Tucson, AZ on Monday then the 3rd grade classes at her school had a Mad Science Day on Tuesday and I had my Technique Tuesday Class that night!  I'm in exhale mode now.

Shaylin and I at the cave near Tucson, AZ.  Wish we could have taken pictures inside the caves!

Getting ready to go down in the copper mine in Bisbee, AZ.

Shaylin and I on the bus back to school at the end of a fun and long day.  What a Great time we had!

This Techique Tuesday class was Pop-up cards, again.  They were a different type of pop-up card than the ones we learned in the last class.  I would call them Pop-Out cards.

This is the inside of the each of the 2 cards we made.  I will share the WWYD (What Would You Do) cards and guts for the next one, in the next few days.  So, look for that!

I also wanted to say a big *Thank You* to Michelle for bringing a cake to Celebrate my 100th Meetup!  (www.meetup.com/inkie-pinkies)  I didn't even notice but she did and it was so nice!

Thanks again, Michelle!

Don't forget, the Stampin' Up! retiring items are Goin', Goin', Going!  You only have 'til May 31st to get them before they are gone!  You can order 24/7:  HERE

Have a fun and safe Memorial Weekend!  Thanks for stopping by!

Have a Seat

I can't believe the *Have a Seat* stamp set is retiring!  I just love the simplicity of it.  But, I'm sure Stampin' Up! will have plenty of stamp sets to take it's place in the new catalog.  I'm going to miss the Lace Ribbon Border Punch that is retiring, too.    boo hoo

To create the lace-y look on the bottom, just punch a strip of the Lace Ribbon Border Punch in Very Vanilla and fold it back and forth.  Then, attach sticky strip to the back of your card stock and lay on the folded punch strip, showing the amount of it you like, then push down so it sticks to the sticky strip.  easy!

The flowers are from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and I added pearls. (the really little flowers are from the lace punch that I added in to fill in the seat.

Be sure to check out the retiring list and get 'em while you can!  You can view the lists here:  Retired List

Thanks for stopping by and have a Great Day!

WWYD Wednesday and Mother's Day Gifts

I know this is a day late but I do have an excuse!  :o)  I haven't posted lately because I couldn't find the cord to my camera and, being the genius I am, I just realized I can place my camera's memory card directly into my laptop, duhhh!

To start off, I wanted to share the wonderful and thoughtful gifts my family gave me for Mother's Day.  They truly spoiled me and I didn't lift a finger all day.  It was a GREAT Day!  Thank you!

I also wanted to share the *WWYD* card guts everyone got at our last Technique Tuesday class.  My next class is coming up this Tuesday so I thought I would post just in case you wanted to play along, too.  Sometimes I think the girls look forward to this more than the technique we will be learning.  JK!  :o)

It's hard to tell in this pic so I will explain the guts.  The card base is 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" Very Vanilla, 3 Melon Mambo Floral Fusion Flowers, some leaf/stems from the Bird Builder Punch, a couple strips of Basic Black that I punched with the Scallop Edge Punch and 3 1/8" x 5 1/2" First Edition Paper.  (and 3 rhinestones, not pictured)  As always, all supplies are from Stampin' Up!

If you want to play along and share what you came up with, (we would love to see) email a pic or 2 and I will post it here.

Thanks for stopping by!

Envie Bag

Today's project and the one I posted yesterday were the last 2 projects from my *Envie Class* that I had a couple weeks ago and then again last night.  It's been fun sharing the different items you can make with a simple envelope.

I made this project with an envelope Stampin' Up! used to carry.  They hold an 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" card.  I also used the Everything Eleanor stamp set that will be in Stampin' Up!'s new catalog available June 1st!

Contact me if you'd like a new Stampin' Up! catalog and I can tell you how you can get one for FREE!

Again, I will post pics of the cutting and scoring lines when I find the cord to my camera.

I still haven't found my camera cord but did find that I can insert my memory card directly into my laptop, Yippee!  Added 5/17/12:

On each side you will have 3 *score* lines, the center one will get pushed in and it should look like a paper bag.  To create the bottom of the bag, you will fold in the 2 bottom side tabs then the 2 longer ones that are on the front and back.  Add adhesive to the last tab that you fold and that will close the bottom of the bag up.  I'm not good at explaining so if you need more details, please let me know.  ;o)

Thanks for stopping by and Have a Happy Mother's Day!

Teacher Appreciation Week ~ Gift #5

Today's teacher gift is a simple bag made out of an envelope.  This is made with my initial but the ones we gave used the initial of the teacher's name.  You can place anything inside the small bag but we placed a Sonic gift card in ours.  The flower is made out of the Floral Fusion Die for the Big Shot.  Just spritz it, scrunch it, unscrunch it, let it dry then glue pieces together, add a rhinestone and your done.  How simple is that?!?

I can't find the cord to my camera right now, but when I do, I will add a pic of the cut and score dimensions for the envelope.

I still haven't found my camera cord but realized I can place my memory card directly into my laptop, yippee!

On each side you will have 3 *score* lines, the center one will get pushed in and it should look like a paper bag. To create the bottom of the bag, start with the 2 bottom side tabs and push them up into the *bag*.  Then, do the same with the 2 longer ones that are in the front and back. Add adhesive inside at the bottom to seal the bag. I'm not good at explaining so if you need more details, please let me know. ;o)

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you spoiled a Teacher this week!

Teacher Appreciation Week ~ Gift #4

Today's teacher gift is a pop-up card I made using the *Mixed Bunch* stamp set.  I got the idea from Dawn Griffith's blog and you can check out her video for measurements and directions HERE.

Of course, I had to change it a *little* to make it more my style.

The flowers were created using the *Rock & Roll* technique.  I inked the flower in a lighter ink then roll the edges around in a darker ink color.  I used Pretty in Pink for the lighter color and Rich Razzleberry for the darker color.  Then, I used the Rich Razzleberry marker to color in the center of the flower.  Be sure to *huff* the stamp before you stamp the image.  For the center of the flower, I used the 2-way glue pen and Dazzling Diamond Glitter.  Perfect!

Important tip:  when doing this technique, make sure you clean your stamp if you are stamping the image more than once.  Otherwise, you will mess up your lighter ink pad.

Enjoy and don't forget to spoil a Teacher!

Teacher Appreciation Week ~ Gift #3

Today's gift is a simple note paper holder made with the *You're My Type* stamp set.  Just a little something cute her teacher can have on her desk, at school or at home.  This one has my name on it but the one Shaylin gave her teacher doesn't.  :o)  Plus, it had a lot more pieces of note paper.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to spoil a Teacher this week!

Teacher Appreciation Week ~ Gift #2

It's day 2 of Teacher Appreciation Week and I'm excited to share this cute little gift!  The box is made out of the Scallop Square Die for the Big Shot.  Then, I wrapped some mini peppermint patties with Designer Series Paper and added a tag.  So quick and easy!  You can make a lot of these in no time!

I've made this simple project before as a Valentine gift and during that time, I have forgotten where I got the idea.  If you recognize this as your idea, please let me know so that I can give you credit.

Enjoy and don't forget to spoil a Teacher!

Teacher Appreciation Week ~ Gift #1

Some of you may already know this but this week is Teacher Appreciation Week here in AZ.  We love to Thank my girls teachers by giving them gifts whenever we can!  So, we look forward to giving them a week of gifts!

Today's gift was a Top Note Tote filled with chocolate and strawberry Whoppers because the colors were similar to the colors the tote was made with.  I was inspired by a tote made by Angie Kennedy Judy HERE

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to spoil the Teachers in your life!
